Commitments

The Omotehama Network is committed to contribute to achieving the 2010 biodiversity target, first trough investigating of the sea turtle\'s reproductive behaviour (affect of laying eggs) and conserving sustainable sandy beach with traditional sandy fence called "Taisagaki" (using natural materials), in Toyohashi area. The sandy beach has abundant biodiversity, fishery, disaster prevention functions, recreation functions and so on. The Omotehama Network will propagate in particular the value of the sandy beach coast to the citizens trough information media (internet, radio, TV, newspapers and so on). Furthermore, the network will work on building local area networks and drafting proposals to the administration. In the future, the network will do the best to register Omotehama coast in the Ramsar Convention wetland, and to maintain the conservation of the coastline and the balance with the human activities.
